Crop Yield Estimation

Objectives:

• Calculation of yield in three potato fields.

Materials:

• The worksheet (containing images and data)

Time needed:

20 minutes

Procedure:

• Use the black and white images of the near infrared and red bands of the satellite image and the table of reflectances, to calculate the NDVI index for three fields.
• Using data from previous years of NDVI values and final yield, determine the linear relationship between NDVI and yield and use it to forecast the yield for this year.
