In remote sensing the combination of various satellites provides a larger field of applications. Here MODIS (onboard Terra, resolution of 250 m), ETM+ (onboard Landsat-7, resolution of 30 m) and finally IKONOS (resolution of 1 m) images are combined to give the impression of a flight from outer space into the Amazon forest.
