Objectives:

In this exercise you can learn

• how to plot multidimensional frequency distribution scattergrams.

Prerequisite:

• The Multi-Dimensional Frequency Distribution

Materials:

• Microsoft Excel or similar software
• Data for 30 throws of a dice
• Histogram data for the Landsat TM image of the Skagen Area, Denmark (Text file)
  
  

Time needed:

1 – 2 school lessons, depending on how detailed you want to discuss the basing principles.

Procedure:

1. Create histograms for each band, compute the mean and Standard Deviation for each Band and plot these on your histograms.
   
   
2. Now create scattergrams for each pair of the four wavebands.
   
   
3. With seven bands of data, how many scattergrams can you construct?
